The second year of the Sound Art Incubator project will present new artworks by young Croatian authors exploring sound as their art medium of choice. The Incubator is a production platform taking part within Mochvara Gallery to provide young artists with the opportunity to explore sound with the full production and presentation support system of the Gallery at their disposal during the process of creating new art projects. The Sound Art Incubator project is held each year, as an open call conceptually linked to the programme course of Mochvara Gallery which has been presenting contemporary sound art and experimental sound art practices continuously for the last four years. The open call approach is primarily aimed at including students of all Croatian art academies, as well as other young and up-and-coming artists who work with sound, and are in need of production support. After the Incubator project pilot successful packed the large hall of Pogon Jedinstvo in 2013 by merging sound art, DIY art practices, biohacking and field recording, this year's newest sound experiences are brought to Mochvara Gallery by Hrvoslava Brkušić, Božo Katić, Niko Mihaljević, Lucija Ukić, Sanja Gergorić, Roko Crnić and Radiona.org. Young sound art progressives from Rijeka, Split and Zagreb will bring to fruit interactive sound installations, collaboration sound projects, performances and happenings which will present the audience with their explorations of various sound phenomena – from deconstruction of opera singing, swarming of biological organisms and melodic Istrian dialects, all the way to toy hacking and soundscaping city horizons.

In the days following the official opening of Incubator which is this year a part of 15th birthday of the Mochvara Club,, young artists will present their works and introduce the audience with the particular context their works were created in, all through cosy and relaxed artist talks. From silent swarming, voices, noise, melody and murmurs, Sound Art Incubator delivers once more innovative, witty, exciting and sound saturated contemporary art practises of young authors who will surely be a topic of many art conversations to come.
